I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with Twitter. Since Elon Musk’s takeover it has become a hate-hate relationship. Not one to stay in abusive relationships, I’ve now quit Twitter and am trying Mastodon. You can follow me there, if you’d like. @Tema@mastodon.social
I disliked Twitter because it was too time-consuming for me to be willing to use it heavily, and in the 140 character limit days, too restrictive. You can’t be a “thought leader” if your thoughts are that minimal.
That said, I did enjoy chats and connecting with people relative to my business (e.g. #cx #custserv) and my more recent profession as an aspiring writer of historical fiction. It was also where I’d go when there was breaking news and to get help from customer service at big companies (because they typically responded faster on Twitter).
We’ll see how long it takes Mastodon to catch up. Here’s a helpful article to get you started on Mastodon, if you are thinking of following the #twittermigration.
