The Ambassador’s Wife by Jennifer Steil
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I was gripped by this book, and the moral and ethical dilemmas it raises in an engrossing, fictional way. The protagonist is such a real, flawed but loveable character. As a writer, I was impressed by how the ending made perfect sense and leaves you with a feeling of completion, without resorting to easy answers.
Perhaps because I listened to it on audio rather than reading it, I found that it took me a while to get into the timeline, which jumps around a lot. Once I got the hang of paying attention to the dates at the start of each chapter, I loved it.
