Tema’s Travels
In the fall of 2017 my husband (DH, in the blog) and I began implementing a plan we’d long dreamed of. We sold our house, got rid of most of our possessions, and started living in small (but comfortable) rental apartments.
In May of 2018 we began a year of travels, I started a blog called Tema’s Travels to keep track of it. Eventually I plan to move that content over to this blog, but for now you can still read about those travels at temastravels.com. From now on, though, I’ll be posting here at temafrank.com.
I grew up in an academic family, so I was used to the notion of uprooting your life every few years to live somewhere else. Here’s where I’ve lived for at least five weeks at a time so far:

Edmonton, CanadaMy Home Base
In October of 2017 we sold our nearly 4,000 square foot house, got rid of most of our possessions, and have been renting and travelling ever since. We recently moved back to Edmonton after our year of travels in Europe and South America. (See temastravels.com for details.) Now we are renting a small condo. It has fantastic views over Edmonton’s river valley, and, best of all, we no longer have to worry about things like snow shoveling and home maintenance. Freedom!!! |
Vancouver, CanadaBeautiful
We lived in Vancouver twice: from March – May of 2019, and May-June of 2018. It is a gorgeous city, and one of the warmest in Canada. (They rarely get snow.) A coastal city, they do get a lot of rain, with the result that get lush gardens are bursting with colour. On sunny days, it is hard to think of a better place to live. Which helps explain why it is sooooo expensive! |
