Back in the 1980s, long before it was fashionable to reinvent yourself every few years, I found that my personality demanded it. The world is so full of wonderful things that I’ve never been able to just stick with one job for more than a few years. There’s more to do, to learn, to explore. I’ve worked as a business writer, a digital marketing consultant, a podcaster, a banker, a lobbyist, a journalist, a board member, and an Internet start-up founder and CEO.
Now I’m into a new phase, where the focus is on doing more of the things I love most: learning, writing, speaking and travelling.
My Latest Adventure
Working on a New Book
This time it will not be a business book. I loved researching and writing PeopleShock: The Path to Profits When Customers Rule, and my first book, Canada’s Best Employers for Women, but I have always dreamed of writing historical fiction and creative nonfiction.
Now I’m learning how, and I have begun work on the story of my grandfather’s adventures in Russia, Japan and North America in the early 1900s. I will post about this writing journey in the blog.
